In the first weeks of June, partypoker has already added two new tournaments to the MTT regular draw. At the beginning of the month, the phase tournament The Grand was kicked off with a buy-in of $1,050, a prize pool of $100,000 and phases from $2.20.
And last week in “Party” they presented another weekly tournament “The Sunday”. It will take place every Sunday at 20:05 Moscow time in a progressive knockout format with a buy-in of $530 and a guarantee of $100,000.
The novelty has a smooth blind structure. The starting stack will be 500,000 chips, the initial blinds are 2,500 / 5,000 with an ante of 625, and the levels increase every 12 minutes.
Late registration lasts only 10 levels, for which you can make only one re-entry. The smooth structure allows you to register at the last level and still get a good 35BB stack – by this point the blinds will be 7,000 / 14,000 with an ante of 1,750.
Satellites to The Sunday
Traditionally, for major events, partypoker launches a wide grid of satellites – you can start qualifying for The Sunday from $5.50 feeders:
Feeder for $5.50 – 5 tickets for $55;
Satellite for $55 – from 2 to 5 tickets for $530.
Unlike The Grand, where the tournament itself and all qualifying phases must be played under a real name, The Sunday can be played under a recently updated nickname.
Success of the second expensive tournament
The debut Sunday knockout took place 14 June. There were 211 participants, that allowed to exceed the promised guarantee by $5,500. Thus, The Sunday became the second successful tournament in the last month. It is worth noting that the second edition of The Grand was also in demand and exceeded the prize pool to $256,000.
