Throughout all her career, Maria has won 39 WTA tournaments (36 singles). A native of Nyagan is the owner of the Federation Cup (2008) and the silver medalist of the 2012 Olympic Games in singles.

According to many resources Maria Sharapova has become the sex symbol of women’s tennis. The last decade, Sharapova was one of the leaders in advertising earnings among all athletes in the world.

Today, Sharapova is on the 373rd line of the WTA rating. Last season, she took part in only eight tournaments due to her injuries.

Alexander Zhukov, Honorary President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), hopes that Maria Sharapova will agree to hold a farewell game at home, in Russia. In that way all the fans will have the possibility to see the last game of the famous tennis player.

Nobody knows what she will do after her tennis carrier, but it’s clear that her name won’t disappear very fast and we can expect a lot of other victories of Maria Sharapova in other spheres of life.
