The acquisition of the Hollywood Casino in Perryville, which has received approval from the Maryland Gambling Control Commission, has been completed.
The operating rights to the gambling house were purchased by gambling operator Penn National Gaming from Gaming and Leisure Properties for $31.1 million. The same company will be leasing casino-related properties to Penn National Gaming for $7.7 million a year.
Maryland has become the twentieth state with a regulated gambling market, where Penn National Gaming operates, which will open a land-based betting center and launch a mobile betting application based on the casino.
